The NE Loop project responded to the need for a comprehensive transmission circuit to supply the Husky Oil Sands project. It eventually brought power to the Kearl Oil Sands projects. To develop the NE Loop, over 100 km of a single circuit 240-kV transmission line was constructed. This was completed with 5 greenfield substations and the retrofit of 1 brownfield substation.
CAP provided project management, surveying, inspection, and quality assurance and control services for the transmission line and substations. For the survey component, we conducted layout and as-built surveys (completed with drafting) for the foundations of the 240-kV transmission towers.
This roadway project consisted of replacement of the water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems, as well as all new pavement along the entire street.
